How does the store work?
Foundation Bulk Food Store is a zero-waste bulk food shop, think of it like a traditional grocery store, but without all the packaging. Products are displayed in tubs, jars, and dispensers, and you scoop exactly what you need. Bring your own containers from home, or use our compostable or repurposed options in store. You only pay for what you take, no more wasting food or money on oversized packets.
Do I need to buy bulk quantities?
Not at all! One of the best things about bulk shopping is that you buy exactly what you need, a handful of nuts, a single serve of spice, or a full kilogram of oats. There are no minimum quantities in store. (Online orders are set quantities, browse our shop to see available sizes.)
Where can I see everything you sell in store?
Our online shop features our top 100 products, but we stock over 800 products in store! You can find our full product and price list linked in our Instagram bio, or pop in and have a browse.
What are your shipping and delivery options?
We ship Australia-wide. Standard shipping is $11.95, with free shipping on orders over $100. We also offer local Peninsula delivery, just select your option at checkout. Most orders are dispatched within 24 hours.
What is your returns policy?
If you're not happy with your order for any reason, please get in touch with us at nicola@foundationbulkfoodstore.com.au and we'll make it right.
Where do you source your products?
We prioritise Australian-grown and locally sourced products wherever possible, a big portion of our range comes from right here on the Mornington Peninsula or elsewhere in Australia. That said, for products like coffee and spices that simply aren't grown locally, we source the best quality we can find from overseas. We also source with value in mind, because offering our customers good products at a fair price matters just as much to us as where something comes from.
Are all of your products organic?
Not all of them, and that's intentional. We offer a range of both organic and conventional products across many categories, giving you the choice between certified organic and more budget-friendly options. Where a product is certified organic, it's clearly labelled. This way you can choose what works best for your budget without having to compromise on quality.
How does the loyalty program work?
Our loyalty program is points-based, you earn points every time you shop with us, which turn into discounts on future purchases. On top of that, loyalty members get 10% off every Monday in store. Ask us at the counter to get signed up, all we need is your name and mobile number. (In-store only.)
Do you cater for specific dietary requirements?
We stock a wide range of products to suit different dietary needs, including vegan, dairy free, refined sugar free, and products made without gluten-containing ingredients. Please note: because our store is a bulk food environment with many products displayed unpackaged in bins alongside one another, we can't guarantee any product is completely free from cross-contamination with gluten or allergens, even when a product is naturally gluten free. We take great care to store and display gluten-free products away from gluten-containing ones, both on the shop floor and in our storeroom, but if you have a serious allergy or coeliac disease, please get in touch before ordering and we'll do our best to advise.
